HOSTING & SUPPORT

All websites need to be hosted somewhere. Website hosting is basically just a central place (online server) where all your website’s files (pages, images, databases, etc.) are stored (hosted). These are then served up in the right configuration to anyone who views your website in their browser.

Without web hosting there would be nowhere to go and nothing at all to see on the internet!

Of course, you are perfectly free to have your website hosted anywhere you like, it’s your website. But unless you know what you’re doing I would strongly advise against this.

Web hosting is very much a ‘get-what-you-pay-for’ service. Some providers may be cheap, and some may even be free, but if your website goes down, or you get a virus, their expensive or often non-existent support departments will not fix the problem, it’ll be down to you to do it!

My hosting package comes with one very important extra: back-up and support. I will make sure your website is kept right up to date and always working as it should be, and if you have any problems or questions my personal support and advice is only an email away.

WordPress websites and their themes and plugins need to be kept up to date and backed up to keep them secure from viruses and hackers. Cheap hosting providers will not do this for you, you would have to do it yourself.
